Beaver Falls, PA - Although the schedule said Geneva′s tennis team was home against Thiel on Wednesday, it was somewhat of a road match for both teams. The PAC match took place at Blackhawk High School and the Golden Tornadoes didn′t seem to mind one bit. Geneva won for the third straight match and improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the PAC with a convincing 9-0 victory over the Tomcats.

Geneva swept all six singles matches in dominating fashion. Julie Kline won her top singles match in straight sets while teammate Alyssa Kuhn followed the same trend in second singles. Brittany Kress had the easiest time of all the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in third singles. Christine Bullock, the most recent NCCAA national player of the week, remained unbeaten on the season but needed a 10-0 tie-breaker victory after splitting the first two sets. Other singles winners included Darcie Shaffer and Alison Beattie.

The duo of Julie Kline and Christine Bullock remained unbeaten in 2012 with a hard fought 9-7 victory in doubles while Jen Bullock teamed up with Samantha Jensen for a victory in second doubles. Brittany Kress continued her domination along with teammate Courtney Light for an 8-0 victory in third singles. Kress played a total of 20 games on Wednesday and was a perfect 20-0 in her two wins.

Geneva will continue its busy week against perennial powerhouse Grove City at home on Friday before heading to Marietta for a match on Saturday morning.
