Beaver Falls, PA - For a quarter of a century, one women′s tennis team has claimed Presidents′ Athletic Conference champion laurels. The Grove City College women′s team has won 25 consecutive titles and paid a visit to Beaver Falls on Friday and put an end to Geneva′s three game winning streak and handed the Golden Tornadoes their first conference loss. While Geneva fell to 3-2 on the season, Grove City improved to 2-1.

Although Geneva College and head coach Mandee Craft are not much interested in morale victories, it has been quite a while since Geneva even managed a point against the dominating Wolverines. On the day, the Golden Tornadoes managed to take a pair of matches. Christine Bullock remained unbeaten in singles for the 2012 season with a straight set victory 6-3-6-3 in number five singles. In doubles action, Brittany Kress and Courtney Light combined for their fourth consecutive victory with an 8-3 victory in number three singles. Grove City managed to win five of the six singles matches and two out of three in doubles in moving to 2-0 in conference play while Geneva fell back to 2-1 in the PAC.

The Golden Tornadoes will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Ohio in the morning to take on Marietta College at 11 am. Geneva returns home on Monday for a make-up match against Washington & Jefferson at Brady′s Run Park beginning at 4 pm.
