Alliance, OH - The Geneva College women′s volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Tuesday night to meet nationally ranked Mount Union University. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-1 decision to the Purple Raiders and fell to 11-2 for the season but still maintain a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play.

Mount Union won the match in four sets by scores of 25-11, 20-25, 25-14, 25-20. Ashley Davis was Geneva′s lone player to reach double figures in kills with 15 on the night. Maggie Bowersox and Rachel Netherland each chipped in with six kills while Bowersox also added three blocks. Deanna Briody picked up 28 assists and 16 digs while it was Alexandra Baughman leading the defense with 20 digs in the loss.

The Golden Tornadoes will get back into conference action on Saturday when they travel to Bethany to take on the host Bison and the Thiel College Tomcats. Geneva returns home next Wednesday to face Westminster College.
