Steubenville, OH - After 45 minutes of soccer on Wednesday, the Geneva College men′s soccer team was looking for answers. At the end of the match, many of those questions were given answers in a big way as the Golden Tornadoes exploded for five second half goals in a 5-0 victory at Franciscan. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record to 4-3-1.

Although Geneva controlled possession and field position for the majority of the night, it wasn′t until the 52nd minute when the Golden Tornadoes struck first. Jeb Nash was the first of five different players to find the net when he scored an unassisted goal to put Geneva on the board. Kyle Terrill, Ted Krzywiecki, Daniel Cox and Tyler Kiser all found the net in the second half explosion as Geneva out shot Franciscan 14-6 in the second stanza.

Bryan Butler was not forced to make one save in registering his third shut-out of the 2012 campaign. Franciscan managed just eight shots but none were directed on net.

Geneva will look to build off of its Wednesday momentum for a Saturday showdown at nationally ranked Messiah College. Messiah is ranked third in the most recent NCAA Division III poll and handed the Golden Tornadoes an 8-0 loss last year at Reeves Field. The Golden Tornadoes begin conference play a week from Saturday at Washington & Jefferson.
