Beaver Falls, PA - It was starting to look like no team would ever score another goal against the Geneva College women′s soccer team. After nearly 375 consecutive scoreless minutes, Pitt-Johnstown finally found the net against Geneva and freshman goalkeeper Anna McMullen in a 3-1 UPJ victory. The loss dropped the Golden Tornadoes back to the .500 mark at 3-3-1 for the season while UPJ improved to 5-2.

Janna Stoup broke the scoreless tie in the 27th minute for Pitt-Johnstown. After not allowing a goal for 375 minutes, Geneva watched UPJ score another goal just 30 seconds later to extend the lead to 2-0.

The two teams each tallied a goal in the second half with Geneva′s goal coming off the foot of Caroline Wright. Wright′s goal was the first of her Geneva career and came with just under three minutes left to play to avoid the shut-out.

Pitt-Johnstown doubled up Geneva on shots at a total of 22-11. Anna McMullen, who posted that impressive scoreless streak made eight saves on 11 shots. Geneva forced UPJ goalkeeper Timi Shicok to make seven saves in the victory.

The Golden Tornadoes head out on a three-game road trip beginning with a trip to Mount Union on Saturday. Geneva returns home on October 3rd for a date with Saint Vincent College.
