Beaver Falls, PA - It has been anything but normal around the Geneva College volleyball program for the past few days. Sitting on a three-match losing streak heading into Wednesday night, the defending PAC champions were desperate to get back into the win column and return to its normal standard. All is well on College Hill following Geneva′s impressive 3-0 victory over Westminster. The Golden Tornadoes dispatched the Titans by set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-23. The victory pushed Geneva′s record to 11-5 overall and into a tie with Westminster at 5-2 in conference play.

Geneva had little trouble with Westminster in the first two sets as it cruised to a commanding lead in both. Ashley Davis and Maggie Bowersox led the offense with ten kills each, while Kristland McCracken picked up seven. Deanna Briody led the way with 29 assists while also picking up three blocks to join Bowersox for the team lead.

Alex Baughman had 11 digs and a couple service aces. Baughman and Bowersox each had two aces to lead a Geneva team that posted seven aces in the match.

The Golden Tornadoes will try to take their momentum on the road as they head to Washington D.C. for the weekend and the Galluadet University Tournament. Geneva opens with matches against Washington & Lee and Messiah on Friday evening.
