Washington, PA - Geneva watched Washington & Jefferson′s women′s soccer team score five unanswered goals in a 5-2 victory to open play in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. The Golden Tornadoes, who opened the 2012 season with nine non-conference games, fell to 4-5-1 overall and 0-1 in league play after Saturday′s result.

Washington & Jefferson scored three first half goals and extended the lead quickly just four minutes into the second stanza. The Presidents would score again before Maura Allen got Geneva on the board in the 73rd minutes with her second goal of the season. Just eight minutes later, Elise Mann scored her second goal of the game but it proved to be too little, too late as Geneva dropped the 5-2 decision.

W & J out shot Geneva 22-12 with freshman goalkeeper Anna McMullen turning away ten shots in the match. The Golden Tornadoes will try for their first conference victory on Wednesday night when they host Saint Vincent College for a 5 pm kickoff.
