Washington, PA - It certainly wasn′t for lack of effort or opportunity, but the Geneva College men′s soccer team could not solve the Washington & Jefferson defensive puzzle in a 0-0 double overtime tie to open the 2012 PAC schedule. The Golden Tornadoes moved to 4-4-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the league after Saturday′s action.

Washington & Jefferson out shot Geneva on the stat sheet by the count of 10-7 but it was the Golden Tornadoes that had several solid scoring opportunities fall by the waste side.

Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Bryan Butler registered his fourth shut-out of the season and had to make six saves to do so. On the other side, W & J′s Jon Best made three saves to register another goose egg for the President′s.

Geneva will return home for its first conference game at Merriman Complex on Wednesday night when it welcomes Saint Vincent College for a 7:30 pm kickoff. A week from today, Geneva will be in New Wilmington to battle the Titans of Westminster College.
