Carlisle, PA - In one of the most anticipated races of the season for the Geneva College men′s and women′s cross country teams, the Golden Tornadoes fared well against some of the best competition in the Eastern United States. The men had the option to run in either a 4K or 8K race while the women could choose from a 4K or a 6K. In the combined results from the day, Geneva′s men finished ninth out of 14 schools while the women posted a fifth place finish against a field of 15 schools.

In the men′s 8K race, Nick Edinger posted a sixth place finish with a time of 26:14. Teammate Owen Struck also broke the top 100 with a 91st place finish in a time of 28:41.

In the women′s 6K event, Sarah-Noel Meek posted a time of 23:36 which was good enough for an impressive seventh place finish. Alayna Merkle also turned in a top notch performance with a 17th place finish with a finishing time of 24:18.

Shannon Rech competed in the 4K race for Geneva′s women and posted a 13th place finish to lead all Geneva runners.
