Washington D.C. - The Geneva College volleyball team ended its pool play at the Galluadet Tournament with a 2-1 record after defeating Shenendoah 3-0 on Saturday morning by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-19. Despite the victory, the Golden Tornadoes ended up in the second pool play match to end the tournament because of a loss on tiebreaker points. In that match, the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-0 decision to Marymount University by scores of 27-25, 27-22, 25-20. The Saturday split pushed Geneva′s overall record to 13-6 on the season.

Kristland McCracken and Ashley Davis combined for 25 kills in the first match before posting a combined 23 kills in the night cap. Maggie Bowersox was solid in the third place match with 12 kills. McCracken added 16 digs while Lynsey Gugino led the way with 17 assists in the final match of the tournament.

Geneva gets back into conference play on Tuesday night with a PAC match at Washington & Jefferson before hosting both Thomas More and Grove City at Metheny Fieldhouse next Saturday.
