genevans_artwork.jpgLast spring, Dr. Robert Copeland, beloved leader of The Genevans choir for over 31 years, conducted his final concert as the ensemble′s director. During the concert, a combined choir of over 200 current group members and Genevans alumni performed several numbers. This historic and special performance was recorded and is now available for purchase.

"Call to Remembrance" is The Genevans′ newest CD, recorded by Geneva graduate Ron Zorn ′78 during the 2012 Spring Concert. The theme is "Choral Favorites," and the repertoire includes many songs that The Genevans have performed throughout the past three decades. The principal work is J. S. Bach′s Jesu, meine Freude. Also included are sacred and secular works ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary, including folk songs, spirituals and hymns, Russian church music, and selections from Broadway musicals, as well as settings of the Book of Psalms.

"The program is made up of material that choir members and veterans liked and have asked to sing," explains Dr. Copeland.

The CD is available in the Campus Bookstore and through the music department, located in Alumni Hall. The cost is $12. Any profit made from sales of the CD will be used to support the ongoing ministry of The Genevans.
