Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College Women′s Volleyball hosted the Saint Vincent College Bearcats for the last regular season home game. The night opened up in saying goodbye to four well known Golden Tornadoes; seniors Kristland McCracken, Maggie Bowersox, Paige Banyas and Kristen Zimmovan. All of these women have played a huge role in Geneva′s success over the last several years and will be missed.
Coming into the match tied with Westminster for the fourth sport in the PAC standings Geneva had a big opportunity to continue to post season at home. Saint Vincent came into the match a half game behind sixth place Grove City for the final play-off spot.
Saint Vincent wasted no time getting started with a 25-22 win over Geneva for the first game set. Saint Vincent did make it easy for the Golden Tornadoes to bounce back as the second set went to 28-26 with Geneva on top. Davis collected a career high of 23 kills during the night along side of Deanna Briody's season high of 54 assists. Once Geneva got moving they sealed the deal to keep Geneva volleyball fans returning for more action at home with a 25-17 in the third set and a 25-18 score for the fourth set.
On Saturday Geneva volleyball will close out the season at Grove City at eleven a.m. The PAC tournament will begin next Tuesday in tornado territory.
