Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College′s volleyball needed a victory and they welcomed a winless Chatham University team to Metheny Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. The Golden Tornadoes got exactly what they needed with a 3-0 victory by scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-17). Geneva improved to 17-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference with the victory while Chatham remained winless at 0-20.

Geneva used a solid serving attack with nine aces for the match including four aces by Kristland McCracken in the second set alone. McCracken also was solid at the net as one of two Geneva players that ended with double digit kills. McCracken posted ten kills to go along with team leader Maggie Bowersox′s 13 on the night. Bowersox also had three blocks.

Lynsey Gugino led the defense with 11 digs while McCracken also chipped in with 10 digs. Gugino also organized the offense with a team best 21 assists on the night.

Things will get a bit more difficult for Geneva as the week wears on. The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Waynesburg on Thursday night before a rematch with a Thiel team that upended Geneva earlier in the year on Saturday night at 6 pm.
