Beaver Falls, PA - It almost looked like the Geneva College volleyball team was going to let a golden opportunity slip through its fingers on Tuesday night. Despite playing two solid sets to start the match with Bethany, the Golden Tornadoes found themselves down 2-0. Geneva never stopped fighting and by the end of the night, the Golden Tornadoes had rallied back for a 3-2 victory for its 20th victory of the season. Geneva improved to 20-9 overall and 11-5 in the PAC with the key conference victory. The win nearly assures Geneva a fourth place finish in the PAC standings and a first round PAC tournament game.

Geneva dropped the first two sets 20-25 and 21-25 despite leading in both sets. In the third set, the Golden Tornadoes took command of the match by narrowly coming away with a 25-23 victory. Geneva won set four 25-20 and the fifth and deciding set 15-11.

The Golden Tornadoes spread the offensive wealth on Tuesday with a solid effort from three players at the net. Kristland McCracken may have played her most productive match of the season and led Geneva with 18 kills. Ashley Davis came away with 15 kills while Maggie Bowersox added nine.

Junior setter Deanna Briody finished the match with 45 assists and 11 digs. McCracken led Geneva with 16 digs while Paige Banyas added 15 on the defensive end of the floor.

Geneva will play its final home match of the season on Thursday night when they honor their seniors and host Saint Vincent at 7 pm. The regular season concludes at Grove City on Saturday with matches against the Wolverines and Allegheny College.
