Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College women′s soccer team needed to stop the bleeding on Wednesday evening after dropping three straight matches. The Golden Tornadoes pulled out the tourniquet with a 7-0 victory over Chatham University. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record back to the .500 mark at 8-8-1 including a 4-4 record in the PAC. The Golden Tornadoes will have to beat Thiel on Saturday to stay above .500 and be eligible for NCCAA post-season.

It didn′t take long for Geneva to get going on the offensive end of the field on Wednesday night. The Golden Tornadoes opened the scoring just 1:21 into the match with a goal from Maura Allen, who took a lead pass from Elise Mann and found the net. Elise Mann got on the board herself on a similar play in the sixth minute. It would just be the start for Mann, who posted a hat trick in the match.

Geneva tallied four first half goals with Heidi Mann scoring her team leading 14th of the season in the 19th minute and sister Elise posting her second of the match in the 26th minute.

The domination continued in the second half with Heidi Mann′s second of the game and 15th of the season just two minutes into the second stanza. Elise Mann completed her hat trick with a goal in minute 55 on Maura Allen′s second assist of the match. The scoring was closed out on Amanda Weaver′s goal with only four minutes remaining in the match.

Geneva will celebrate senior day on Saturday prior to the 5:00 pm kickoff with Thiel College. Risa Tillman and Maura Allen will be stepping foot on the home field for the final time of their careers.
