Beaver Falls, PA - It was not the conference ending that the 2011 defending PAC champions were hoping for as the Geneva College volleyball team got upended in the first round of the PAC tournament. Despite the disappointment in the PAC, the Golden Tornadoes did finish with a 22-11 overall record with work still to be done at the NCCAA east regional tournament next weekend. Geneva also posted a 13-5 mark in conference play and the conference coaches took notice with the selection of the 2012 All-Conference team on Monday.

Senior middle hitter Maggie Bowersox was Geneva′s lone representative on the first team. Bowersox played 115 sets and posted a team best .284 hitting percentage with 310 kills and a team high 63 blocks. She also had 29 service aces and 130 digs to her credit.

Teammates Ashley Davis, Deanna Briody and Kristland McCracken were all second team selections. Davis led Geneva with 367 kills (3.50/set) while Briody followed up her PAC player of the year award in 2011 with another solid campaign that saw her post 1040 assists (9.63/set) and 398 digs (3.69). She also led the Golden Tornadoes with 48 service aces. McCracken also enjoyed a solid season with 322 kills, 35 service aces and 403 digs.

The Golden Tornadoes will head to Malone University next weekend for the NCCAA east regional tournament that will crown a champion to receive an automatic bid to the NCCAA national tournament at the end of the month.
