Bethany, WV - The Geneva College women′s basketball team took its show to West Virginia on Wednesday night in hopes of securing its first victory of the season. The change of scenery did not help the Golden Tornadoes on the offensive end of the court in a 57-34 loss to the Bison. The loss dropped Geneva to 0-7 on the season including a 0-3 mark in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Heidi Mann and Leah Prisuta each scored eight points to lead a Geneva offense that managed just 13 first half points and finished with a 26% shooting mark from the field for the game. Bethany did not exactly set the nets on fire as Geneva held the Bison to 28% shooting in the second half and just 33% for the game. Brianna Nuzum led all scorers with 11 points as Bethany featured scoring from ten different players.

Geneva suffered through a five minute stretch where it didn′t score midway through the first half as Bethany pushed a four-point lead up to ten points and never looked back. The Golden Tornadoes trailed 30-13 at the halftime break and never managed to get the deficit under 15 points the rest of the way.

The Golden Tornadoes will return home this weekend for the conference home opener against Waynesburg University with the tip-off scheduled for 5:30 pm.
