Wooster, OH - The Geneva College men′s basketball team didn′t bring its defense with it to Wooster, Ohio this weekend. Less than 24 hours after allowing 92 points against Marietta, the Golden Tornadoes watched John Carroll post 119 points in a 119-89 loss on day two of the Wooster Holiday Tournament. The loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 1-10 while John Carroll improved to 6-5.

The game was all but decided by halftime as John Carroll sizzled the nets to the tune of a 69-38 halftime lead. John Carroll shot 61% from the field for the first 20 minutes including 9-187 from three-point range. It finished with 14 three-point field goals for the game and a 60% mark from the field.

Geneva did out score John Carroll 51-50 in the second half but it was too little, too late for a Golden Tornadoes team that trailed by 31 at the break. Matt Lorello led Geneva′s offense with 24 points on 8-12 shooting from the field while Jordan Harbison added 21 points and an impressive 7-9 from three-point range. Keynon Jackson, who joined the team for the first time yesterday, came off the bench to score 16 points on 8-11 shooting from the field.

Geneva will get back into Presidents′ Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when it hosts Thomas More at 7:30 pm. The Golden Tornadoes will welcome Grove City to Metheny Fieldhouse next Saturday afternoon at 3 pm.
