Katie (Kit) Hogan

The Geneva College community has been in prayer since the evening of Friday, December 7 when a student was hit by a car when she crossed Route 18 near the college. Katharine (known as Kit or Katie) Hogan, a senior from Wilmore, Kentucky, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after the accident.

Kit suffered a serious head injury and is currently in ICU at Allegheny General Hospital. The Beaver Falls Police Department is currently investigating the accident.

Kit's family was notified immediately after the accident and is with her at the hospital. President Ken Smith and Provost Ken Carson have called on the Geneva community to pray for Kit at this time.

Within hours after the accident, nearly Geneva 100 students gathered in the dining hall to pray. More than 20 students, along with Geneva administrators and student development staff, held vigil with the family in the hospital and has continued regular visitation.

However, there are a host of incidental expenses such as meals, gas, parking and so on that they are incurring. We would like to help the family deal with these expenses." Those who would like to donate cash or gift cards to a fund to help the family may deliver contributions the business office in Old Main or mail them to: Kit Hogan Family Support Fund, Geneva College, 3200 College Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
