Beaver Falls, PA - It only lasted two years, but the legacy that Troy Nesmith left on Geneva College and the Golden Tornadoes basketball program was one of great significance. Playing in the seasons of 1994-95 and 1995-96, Nesmith helped lead Geneva to back to back NAIA national tournament appearances. During those two seasons, the Golden Tornadoes combined for an overall record of 50-13. For his amazing abilities at Geneva College and before that at Beaver Falls High School, Nesmith will be inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame this spring. Additionally, Nesmith will also be heading into the Gannon University Sports Hall of Fame later this year at a place where he concluded his collegiate career alongside head coach Jerry Slocum.

When Slocum decided to leave Geneva following the 1995-96 campaign, he took with him his prize possession in Nesmith. The duo continued to win games at Gannon at a very impressive clip.

In just two years on College Hill, Nesmith compiled 1402 points, which still ranks 15th all-time in the Geneva College record book. In his freshman season, Nesmith posted 709 points, which is the sixth highest single season total in school history.

The two years at Geneva College for Nesmith also accounted for two of the top ten best single season records in the over 120 years of Geneva basketball.
