New Wilmington, PA - For the third in the last four games, the Geneva College men′s basketball team saw a halftime lead disappear in a conference loss. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes only led Westminster by one at the break, but the Titans outscored Geneva by 11 points in the second stanza in a 78-68 decision. Geneva lost for the sixth consecutive game and dropped to 1-14 on the season including a 1-6 start in the PAC. Westminster picked up its first conference victory of the season as the Titans improved to 5-10 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Leading by one at the half with the score 31-30, Geneva watched Westminster open the second half on an 8-2 run to take a five-point lead. At the nine minute mark, the Titans held their biggest lead of the game at 13 points with the score 57-44. The Golden Tornadoes were not yet finished as they made a late game run to cut the score to four points at 57-53 as Keynon Jackson capped a 9-0 run. The Golden Tornadoes would never get any closer in the game as they came up on the short end of a ten point decision.

Matt Lorello led a trio of Geneva players in double figures with 18 points. Jackson finished the night with 15 points and Jordan Harbison added 13 in the loss. The Golden Tornadoes shot 40% from the field while the Titans posted a mark of 44% including a game high eight three-point field goals. Doug Smith (20 pts) and Anthony Thomas (19 pts) led the Titans on the offensive side of the floor.

The Golden Tornadoes will keep searching to end their current losing streak when the play the third of three straight road games on Wednesday night when they travel to Washington & Jefferson. Geneva returns home next Saturday to host Thiel College at 3 pm.
