Crestview Hills, KY - The Geneva College men′s basketball team made its annual trek to Kentucky last night in preparation of tonight′s showdown with Thomas More College. Wednesday′s result was the same as when the two teams met earlier this month with the Saint coming away with the victory. Thomas More defeated Geneva 82-65 as the Golden Tornadoes dropped to 2-17 overall and 2-9 in conference play. Thomas more improved to 17-3 overall and 10-1 in the league.

Geneva started well and went head to head with the conference′s leading team throughout the first half. The Golden Tornadoes shot 51% from the field in the first 20 minutes and trailed the Saints 39-36 at the break. Thomas More opened the second half on a 16-2 run to open the lead to 55-38 just five minutes into the second stanza. The closest Geneva would get the rest of the way would be within 13 points.

Geneva managed just seven second half field goals and shot 25% from the field including 3-10 from three-point range. Meanwhile, Thomas More knocked down seven treys for the game. Matt Lorello led the Golden Tornadoes with 20 points on 9-16 shooting from the field. Keynon Jackson finished the night as the only other Geneva player to reach double figures with 11 points while also grabbing a team best eight rebounds.
