Beaver Falls, PA - The Golden Tornados traveled to St. Vincent College for tonight′s Presidents′ Athletic Conference men′s basketball game. The past two games emerged a startling pattern for the GT′s. After leaving the court the first half with the upper hand they found themselves after the half time break losing a winning lead for a final loss. Tonight′s match broke this pattern completely but still ended without the ‘W′.

Switching up the starting lineup, the match was neck and neck in the single digits for the first nine and a half minutes at 12-10 with the Bearcats leading. Then St. Vincent made the small gap wide with a 17 point streak leaving the score at 29-10 with seven and a half minutes left in the first half. Ending the half with a field goal percentage of 37 percent, the GT′s had some ground to make up entering the locker room down 39-21.

Breaking the costly pattern from the previous two games, Geneva stepped back on the court with every intention to make up the lost ground. Holding the Bearcats at 39 points the first five minutes of the second half, Geneva returned the favor of St. Vincent′s scoring streak from the first half with their own ten point streak. Both teams battled out the remaining 15 minutes staying within twelve points from each other. Geneva raised their field goal percentage to .500 and three-point field goal percentage from .250 to .600 in the second half. Jordan Harbison and Matt Lorello collected 17 points each and Keynon Jackson fouled out in the last five minutes with 16 points. Outscoring the Bearcats in the second half 43 points to 36 it still wasn′t enough for the win. Though Geneva threatened, St. Vincent kept their lead with the help of Chris Kilmchock′s 17 points making the final score 75-64. St. Vincent raised their overall record to 11-4 with a 6-0 record in the PAC as Geneva drops to an overall record of 1-13 and a 1-5 mark in the PAC.

Geneva will be on the road again for Saturday′s match up against the Westminster Titans at 3:00 p.m.
