Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva ended the road portion of its schedule on Saturday without a victory away from home all season. On Monday night, the Golden Tornadoes returned home and got some revenge against an old friend. After dropping a decision to Penn State Beaver earlier in the season, Geneva held off the Lions 90-88 to put an end to a five-game losing streak overall and a five-game slide against the Lions. The win pushed Geneva′s overall record to 3-20 while Penn State dropped to 19-6.

Geneva, and in particular junior guard Jordan Harbison, shot the lights out in the first half. Geneva posted a season high 49 first half points with Harbison scoring 20 of them including five three-point field goals. The Golden Tornadoes shot 54% from the field in the first half but took just a 49-40 lead into the break. The Golden Tornadoes managed to stretch that lead to as many as 12 at 68-56 at the 7:56 mark. Penn State scored 12 of the next 14 points to close the gap to just two but Geneva never relinquished the lead. Down the stretch, Geneva held at least a two possession lead until the final three seconds when a desperation 3-pointer fell short and the Golden Tornadoes held on for a much needed victory.

Harbison finished the night with six three point field goals and a career best 32 points. Matt Lorello finished with 21 points and Keynon Jackson added 13. Giving Geneva a lift off the bench was 43 year old Brian Rice who scored a season best eight points and grabbed three rebounds. Penn State used the trio of Robert Agurs (26 pts), Nick Miller (26 pts) and Chris Weathers (22 pts) for 74 of its 88 points. It certainly didn′t hurt Geneva′s cause that Weathers and Miller each fouled out with four minutes left on the clock.

Hopefully Monday′s win will carry over some momentum as the Golden Tornadoes get back into conference action on Wednesday night. Geneva will close out the regular season with home games against W & J on Wednesday and Westminster on Saturday.
