Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College baseball team was back on its home turf on Saturday afternoon looking to salvage the final game of a three-game weekend series against Washington & Jefferson. The Golden Tornadoes put Fridays′ doubleheader loss behind them and picked up a 6-2 victory for their first conference win of the young season. Geneva improved to 6-9 overall and 1-2 in the PAC while handing the Presidents their first conference loss at 5-1.

After spotting W & J a first inning run, the Golden Tornadoes took the lead for good with a three-run third. In the sixth inning, Tyler Damazo came through with a run scoring single and Geneva posted its sixth run on a bases loaded walk the Jeremy Herzog. The defensive play of the game came in the fifth inning when left fielder Shane Wingard made a diving catch to save two runs and keep Geneva in the lead.

Caleb Kilgore got more support than he would need at the bat rack as he picked up his second win of the season with six solid innings of work. Kilgore allowed six hits and just one earned run in his outing. Tanner Propst came on to work three scoreless innings of relief to register his first career save.

Geneva banged out ten hits in the victory including three from Mike Jeffreys and a pair for Aaron Witman and TJ Lambert to go along with his three RBI′s.
