Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College softball Golden Tornadoes have taken the last decade to what has been built up to be a trademark of excellence. The Geneva softball program has seen the post-season eight of the past ten years including three National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) regional appearances, three NCCAA national tournament appearances and Geneva′s first trip to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III regional tournament last year after becoming the 2012 season′s Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC) softball Champions. The women continue this tradition of success returning from Florida with key performances from both upper and lower classes.

Freshman Dayna Hicks was awarded on Monday March 11th with the PAC softball hitter of the week. Hicks, an outfielder from Blackhawk, played in nine games this past week in which she hit .455 (15-33) and slugged .515 to go along with 12 runs scored. The freshman was also a perfect 14 for 14 in steal attempts, swiping a season-high three bases in the Golden Tornadoes 12-3 victory over Presentation on Tuesday′s game.

Geneva returns north after playing 12 games during the past week down in the sunshine state standing with a 4-8 overall record. The Golden Tornadoes will take a much smaller road trip compared to Florida on Saturday for double header 1 and 3 p.m. games against Point Park University.
