Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva and Thiel will be seeing quite a bit of each other over the next two days. The two teams opened a three-game series at Geneva on Friday with a nine-inning single affair. The Tomcats came away with a 10-2 victory to improve to 5-1 in the conference while Geneva dropped to 7-11 overall and 2-4 in league play. The two teams will get back to action on Saturday with a 1 pm doubleheader scheduled for Greenville, PA.

Thiel drew first blood with a single run in the first inning then took control of the game with four more in the top of the third. Geneva trailed 6-0 before Garrett Swanson laced a two-run double into the left centerfield gap to trim the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Thiel got those runs back and then some with a four spot in the top of the eighth to close out the scoring.

Doug Sanson took the loss for Geneva by allowing five earned runs and seven hits in his three innings of work. Tanner Propst had a solid outing in relief by allowing just one earned run on three hits in three innings of work. The offense was held to five hits with Mike Jeffreys coming away with a pair of knocks.

Following Saturday′s doubleheader at Thiel, Geneva will host Grove City in a 2 pm doubleheader on Monday before traveling to Saint Vincent next Wednesday for a single game. The busy week concludes with a three-game series against Waynesburg next Friday and Saturday.
