Dan R. Williams of College Hill has been named Geneva College′s new Director of Alumni Relations, moving from internal positions as both Resident Area Coordinator and Coordinator of Campus Fitness.

"Geneva is a special institution that made a tremendous impact on those who have been here. But that impact isn′t a one-way street, and it doesn′t end when people graduate. I′m looking to enhance the ways that alumni interact with Geneva and encourage them to develop a lifelong connection," Williams said regarding his plans for his new position.

Williams graduated from Geneva in 2007 with a B.A. in History. While an undergraduate, he served as student body president. He then went on to earn his Master of Arts in Higher Education from the college in 2009. During that time, he was Geneva′s Intramural Sports Coordinator.

Previously, Williams was the Associate Director of Student Programs at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Ca., from 2009 to 2011. He grew professionally at the university, but felt that God was preparing him to return to Geneva.

Managing student activities including concerts and fundraising events, coordinating national and international service trips, and developing the Geneva Gets Fit health program are some of the projects in which Williams has been involved at Geneva.

His wealth of experience providing leadership and creativity for college programs and his integration with many different posts at Geneva College have prepared him well for his latest position. "My student government experience trained me to take the initiative," said Williams.

"If there's someone who loves Geneva more than Dan, I haven't met that person," stated Geneva′s Director of Residence Life and Williams′ past supervisor Neil Best. "I think his passion for the school, creativity in programming, and work ethic to never stop until the job is done will be well suited for this job. I'm sad to see him move on from Residence Life, but this is a great fit for him and Geneva is blessed to have him move into this role."

Geneva College invites students to accept the challenge of an academically excellent, Christ-centered education. Offering nearly 40 undergraduate majors, an Adult Degree Completion Program with fully online and campus-based options, and seven graduate degrees, Geneva has programs that place students at the forefront of higher learning. Adhering to the inerrancy of scripture, the liberal arts core curriculum fosters a breadth of knowledge through the study of humanities, social and natural sciences, and experiential learning.
