Each spring, the Honors Programs of Geneva College presents "Works of Our Hands," a celebration of senior honors research and Academic Partners projects. This year, project posters will be on display from April 22 to May 3 in Skye Lounge, located in the Student Center.
"I think it is wonderful to celebrate the accomplishments of these high-achieving seniors," says Kara Lee Mantinaos, Director of the Honors Program. "The program gives them a public venue to display their work."
Some of the topics include American political polarization, solar-powered boat engineering, advanced operations management, NASCAR fuel and Pedobacter heparinus bacteria.
"Visiting the poster presentations is worthwhile because there's always a lot of diversity," explains junior honors student Joel Shannon. "Engineering marvels sit alongside children's books and biblical exegeses and websites. It's really interesting to see how different students take the same project in a million different directions."
The Senior Honors Research Project (SHRP) is open to senior honors students. Qualified students are invited to participate in the Academic Partners Project, which pairs participating students with an advisor and provides a stipend to conduct necessary research.
