Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College baseball team opened the final weekend of the 2013 season with a single game against Thomas More College. The two schools will face off against each other three times this weekend with the first match-up on Friday going to the Saints by the score of 6-0. The loss dropped Geneva to 14-20 overall and 9-13 in the PAC.

The Saints took advantage of some defensive lapses in the first inning and posted three runs in the first frame. They added single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to extend their lead. Geneva′s offense managed just four hits and never was able to put together any type of threat. Tyler Damazo collected two of the four hits including a double for the Golden Tornadoes.

Drew Nichols pitched the first three innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and was handed the loss. Doug Sanson and Ian McDonald combined for six innings of relief allowing three earned runs on eight hits.

Geneva and Thomas More will get together again on Saturday for a noon doubleheader in what will be the season finale for the Golden Tornadoes.
