The Center for Urban Biblical Ministries (CUBM) is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday, October 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pittsburgh′s Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Members of the community are invited to commemorate the CUBM′s years of fruitful ministry in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

The 25th anniversary celebration will feature guest speaker Cleophus J. LaRue, Princeton Theological Seminary′s Francis Landey Patton Professor of Homiletics.  LaRue specializes in the theory and method of African-American preaching and worship styles. He speaks frequently at churches, seminaries, and conferences throughout the country. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Baylor University, and his M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton Seminary.

Since 1988, CUBM has partnered with Geneva College to provide urban students with a Christ-centered education. Students can earn a Geneva College Associate of Arts degree in Christian ministry, business administration or human services at CUBM. These degrees are designed for individuals aspiring to be future urban-church leaders. Possibilities are open to continue education at Geneva upon completion of the programs.

CUBM is housed within the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary at 7418 Penn Avenue near the corner of Penn Avenue and Braddock Avenue in Point Breeze.

For more information on the CUBM, visit their website at http://cubm.org/.

To RSVP for the event, contact Carla Lovelace at 412-247-9010 or clovelace@cubm.org.
