gcmSoccerMasters.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - Monday afternoon senior Garrett Masters was chosen as the Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC) offensive men′s soccer player of the week. The PAC is made up of ten higher education institutions including Washington & Jefferson, Waynesburg, Geneva, Westminster, Saint Vincent, Grove City, Thiel, Thomas More and Bethany College. The season openers have come and gone as we are full swing into the first full week of fall athletics.

Over this past weekend the men′s soccer team traveled to Carnegie Mellon University Tournament to face Mount Union on Friday and Hiram on Saturday. After losing a large senior class in 2012, Garrett Masters wasted no time in getting 2013 started. Friday, Masters found the back of the net but it remained Geneva′s only goal forcing a 2-1 loss to Mt. Union. On Saturday the Golden Tornadoes turned things around. Masters was found in the middle of the mix, scoring two goals in the 5-2 win over Hiram. Masters finished the weekend′s play having collected three goals â€‘ qualifying for the PAC offensive player of the week.

The Golden Tornadoes will host Franciscan for their home opener on Wednesday, September 4th starting at 7:00 p.m.
