Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva Volleyball Golden Tornadoes hosted the Thomas More Saints for their 2013 season home opener. Geneva had already established their first Presidentsā€² Athletic Conference (PAC) win of the season over Washington and Jefferson and found their second straight PAC win in a 3-1 decision (25-21, 25-16, 18-25, 25-21) over the Saints. The win moves their overall record to 6-2, 2-0 in the PAC.

Geneva opened up with two set wins over Thomas More but dropped the third creating quite the excitement in the fourth set. Making the most of every minute seen on the court tonight was Amber Sydow. After dropping the third game, Geneva was down 16-18 in the fourth until Sydow found her only, but game changer block of the night.

In the win Davis repeated a high hitting percentage of .347 with a total of 19 kills out of 49 swings. Also efficient on the offense was Erin Smith, collecting nine kills out of 15 swings for a .467 hitting percentage. Deanna Briody set for 41 assists in the mix. On defense, Bri Dickson earned 28 digs for the night.

Tomorrow Geneva hosts Waynesburg University at 11 a.m. and Grove City College at 3 p.m. for an action packed day.
