Berea, OH - Geneva volleyball returned to the court to finish the Marcia French Invitational on Saturday. Geneva defeated Case Western in four games with the scores of 25-23, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23. Unfortunately, shortly after the win Geneva dropped a three game match to Carnegie Mellon University; 8-25, 24-26, 13-25. The Friday Saturday splits move Geneva′s overall record to 4-2.
Opening up with a win, Geneva′s Ashley Davis lead the offensive with 18 kills followed by Olivia Test with 12. Test also had three blocks and Davis earned three aces in serving. Dianna Briody collected 34 assists and both Briody and Alexis Ritson finished with 17 digs a piece. Bri Dickson contributed to the defensive game with 13 digs. Co-Head Coach Curt Conser comments, "We played a good competitive match against Baldwin Wallace. The second match Carnegie Mellon played very, very well and inconsistency beat us."
The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Washington and Jefferson College on Tuesday for their first conference match of the year at 7 p.m.
