Hosting the La Roche Redhawks for their season home opener on Monday, five minutes into play a lighting delayed was issued. In the end, the wait was worth the 2-1 win over LaRoche. Wednesday Geneva was back on the turf to face Hiram. Geneva could not recover the lone goal allotted in the beginning of the second half, falling to Hiram.

Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva Women′s Soccer team faced their third match of the week, moving to Reeves Field due to weather for a second time. Geneva could not recover the lone goal allotted, falling to Hiram and dropping their record to 2-2.

The first half both nets stayed empty. Geneva threaten Hiram′s goalkeeper five times all from the foot of sophomore Heidi Mann. Golden Tornado goalkeeper, Karmyn Culbertson, faced four Terrier shots on the other side of the field.

In the 58th minute, Terrier Robynn McGroarty found the back of the net off a crossbar rebound from teammate Allie Glatt′s shot. Geneva continued to put the pressure on with five more shots and four corner kick opportunities but unable to match the lone goal by Hiram.

Geneva will take the weekend off, returning to their home field on Wednesday to face Point Park at 7 p.m.
