After having the week off Cross Country showed strong at Chatham with the Women finishing second and the Men coming in fifth on Saturday.

Pittsburgh, PA - Geneva returned strong at Chatham after taking last weekend off. The Geneva Women′s Cross Country team finished in Second place out of 10 while the Men′s team finished Fifth of nine teams competing.

Alayna Merkle led the Geneva Women finishing second out of the 100 women runners competing at Chatham. Merkle crossed the finish line at 25:11.6, for a 6:46 mile pace. Not far behind was Heidi Steiner finishing in eighth place (25:55.6) and Anna Kluitenberg at the 13th slot (27:13.5).

In Men′s action, Ken Kutcel was the first Golden Tornado to finish in 13th place with a final time of 32:15.7. Supporting the effort were teammates Jacob Beschner (32:35.9) and Charles Parker (33:22.4).

Geneva Cross Country competes next Saturday, October 5th at the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh University.
