homecoming2013.jpgGeneva College′s Homecoming features a variety of activities for current students and alumni, members of local communities, and those interested in learning more about the college. This year, the annual celebration will take place on Saturday, October 19.

The public is invited to visit campus for the perennially popular College Hill Festival, which will be held on Geneva′s Pedestrian Walkway. The festival features artisans, vendors, live music and a variety of food. There will also be a selection of local groups sharing skills and talents; performances by several musicians; and a mix of kid's games, crafts, face painting and a petting zoo. The school′s choir, The Genevans, will perform at noon.

Alumni are invited to join any number of opportunities throughout the day to enjoy fellowship and rekindle old friendships. Events include the All-Alumni Brunch, during which the members of the classes of '73, '83, '88, '93, '98, '03 and '08 will be recognized. Other special gatherings include the Student Ministry Reunion, an Alumni Baseball Game, a Morgan Men Affinity Reunion and a Student Government Reunion.

For those wishing to learn more about Geneva, campus tours will be conducted throughout the morning. Registration for the tours may be made by contacting the Admissions Office at admissions@geneva.edu or 800-847-8255.

Homecoming comes to a close as the Golden Tornadoes lock horns with the St. Vincent Bearcats on Reeves Field. The 2013 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during a pregame ceremony. Tickets can be purchased at the registration area on Old Main lawn or at the Reeves Field ticket booth before the game. Tickets can also be purchased the day of Homecoming at the registration tent until 4 p.m., and then they will be available at the ticket box before the game. Tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for college students, children 12 and under, and senior citizens. Geneva students are free with a college ID.
