Geneva College will host the second Geneva Reading Series event, "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler," on Wednesday, November 6. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the West Reading Room of the McCartney Library.
Literature readers include senior English majors Gwenyth Gamble and Elaine Griffin, as well as Professor of Bible and Humanities Russell Warren and Professor of Engineering Dr. Murat Tanyel. Music during intermission will be provided junior philosophy major Olivia Mitchell.
"I was impressed by the overwhelming support of students and faculty," said Professor of English Daniel Williams, regarding the approximate attendance of around 100 people for the first event in the series. "This shows me that Geneva's the right place for art: I don't know where it's likely to go better."
Williams, founder of the Geneva Reading Series, expects to hold two reading events each semester. He believes these events allow for an intersection between celebration of the literary arts and fellowship.
Reading Series events are open to all literary forms including, but not limited to, poetry, blogging, essayists, dramatists and flash-fictioners.
