DSC_5309_PAC.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - Geneva College′s Alayna Merkle (Women′s Cross Country) and Montias Jackson (Football- defense) have been selected by the Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week in their respective sports. The selection was made from the pool of student-athletes in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference containing; Bethany College, Chatham University, Geneva College, Grove City College, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, Thomas More College, Washington & Jefferson College, Waynesburg University and Westminster College.

The Geneva Cross Country teams ran at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning. Merkle ran her personal best 6K time of 22:21.2, the second fastest Women′s 6K time in Geneva College Cross Country history. The time allotted Merkle to finish 17th out of 287 runners at Oberlin.

Montias Jackson earned the title of PAC Defensive Player of the Week with his four tackles for loss and three sacks on Saturday against Saint Vincent. Jackson is currently sharing the second place slot in the PAC in sacks with seven sacks in six games. He also stands in sixth place in the conference for tackles for loss, gathering 8.5 tackles while pushing opponents back 60 yards.
