Geneva split the week losing to long time PAC rival Grove City in overtime 2-1 and then broke a three game losing streak against Westminster with a 1-0 win on Saturday.

New Wilmington, PA- Being away from home on Homecoming is not where a team wants to be but, it worked wonders for the Geneva men′s soccer team as they beat PAC rival Westminster 1-0. This is the second conference win for the team and the victory breaks a three game losing streak that has plagued the Golden Tornadoes since October 5th. The win improves Geneva′s record to 2-3 in the PAC and 7-7-2 overall.

Geneva started the game strong holding most of the play and compiling five of their eight shots in the first half. The Golden Tornadoes did not waste any time against the Titans as Sean Bernardi struck in the 14th minute. The goal was scored after a combination of passes from Jesse Herman and Alexander Rosenbaum worked its way to Bernardi′s foot leaving Westminster′s goalkeeper Joe Bonish standing still. The second half proved to be more of a challenge as the Titans fought back but they were unable to break through Geneva′s defensive wall. Geneva′s goalkeeper Bryan Butler only had to make one save in the victory and collected his third shutout of the season. "We played very well today and after a tough three game losing streak it was nice to win again," says Geneva Head Coach Gary Dunda.

Geneva will finally return to College Hill Wednesday when they host Saint Vincent at 7 p.m. as they fight to keep their postseason plans alive.
