The Geneva Women′s Volleyball Team was honored with multiple awards in the NCCAA East Region.

SMB_8685.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- The National Christian College Athletic Association released its 2013 East Region Volleyball Team early this week. Coming as no surprise, the Geneva Women′s Volleyball Team was honored with multiple awards.

Seniors outside hitter Ashley Davis and senior setter Deanna Briody both received First Team East Region honors. Ashley Davis finished her career by leading the Presidents′ Athletic Conference with 395 kills and 3.76 kills per set. Deanna Briody finished the year with an astounding 1029 assists and 9.71 assists per game while adding a remarkable 339 digs for the Golden Tornadoes.

Sophomore Rachel Netherland and freshman Gabrielle Dickson were given Second Team East Region honors by the NCCAA. Netherland had a tremendously balanced year with 267 kills, 131 assists, 251 digs and 56 blocks in her sophomore season at Geneva. Dickson anchored the Golden Tornadoes back row with 413 digs on the season.

Junior Erin Smith and freshman Olivia Test both received East Region Honorable Mention. Middle blocker Erin Smith had a solid junior season for Geneva with 167 kills and 75 blocks. Fellow middle blocker Olivia Test started off her Geneva career in style with 131 kills and 46 blocks.
