PackTheGymNight2014_300.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College Athletic Department is hosting "Pack the Gym Night" on January 18, 2014 at Metheny Fieldhouse when the Golden Tornadoes Basketball teams battle the Titans of Westminster College at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in a presidents athletic conference doubleheader. In what is sure to be a pivotal conference matchup, Geneva hopes to break the modern day attendance record of 2,300. Since the bleachers were revamped in 1995, the Golden Tornadoes have enjoyed exhilarating crowds night after night creating an atmosphere that is truly one of a kind.

The Geneva College community has adopted a reputation for record breaking performances after its "World′s Largest Game of Knockout" back in the spring of 2013. The Geneva College Athletic Department hopes this same intensity and vigor can be brought to "Pack the Gym Night" as another record hangs in the balance.

Interim Director of Athletics Van Zanic strongly endorses the event, "We have a long standing tradition with Westminster that we take great pride in. We′d love to have the opportunity to pack the gym to give us the home court advantage that can and will give us the upper hand. We feel like we have one of the best facilities in the PAC and there is nothing better than when it is packed against one of our all-time rivals."

Head Men′s Basketball Coach Jeff Santarsiero commented on the event, "It is going to be a very exciting night here at Metheny Fieldhouse. I am looking forward to seeing the place packed out against Westminster like it used to be back in the retro days. This will be an event that you don′t want to miss. If we can pack the house, I know it will be a night to remember."

The Geneva College Athletic Department strongly encourages all members of the Geneva College and Beaver Falls community to attend "Pack the Gym Night" including students, faculty, alumni and residents of the surrounding communities.
