Cold shooting dooms Geneva men in 66-39 loss to Thiel

GREENVILLE, PA - Geneva made just 12 of 52 field attempts for just 23.1% and that was far from good enough to upend Thiel at the Tomcats′ gym. The cold shooting wasn′t limited to just a few players, either, as no single player shot 50% and Geneva played 16 different players. Geneva falls to 4-14 and 0-9 in Presidents′ Athletic Conference action while Thiel improves to 6-9 and 2-6.

"It was cold outside and we were cold inside," said Geneva coach Jeff Santarsiero. "We were just out of sync and shot the ball horribly.

"We just need to get better."

A pair of Geneva players were able to score in double figures - freshman Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH) and senior Trevor York (Sycamore Covenant, IN) each had 10 points. The same pair also were the only two to score in double digits against Thiel when the teams played at Geneva.

Geneva next plays Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Bethany.
