RivalPreview.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- Tonight marks the 110th time Geneva and Westminster battle out a rivalry that has been etched in time before the student-athletes on either team have been born. Last year Geneva dropped the first meeting in New Wilmington only to answer with an electrifying home game overtime win on February 16th, 2013 (84-80), splitting the 2012-13 season with the Titans. In the win, returner Tyler Damazo finished with a double double scoring 20 points and finishing with 11 rebounds. Over the last 109 games, Geneva has taken 88 wins while Westminster has slid past Geneva 121 times for the ‘W′.

This season both benches return with the previous coach at the helm ready for another Geneva-Westminster classic basketball night game. Head coach Kevin Siroki and the Titans step onto GT soil with a young, tall and talented program. Westminster grabbed a win from Penn State Altoona before the holidays and won its first conference game at home over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. Titan Sophomore, Paul Carswell, leads the offensive averaging 16.8 points a game. Adding depth and experience to the Titan bench is senior playmaker Anthony Thomas with 59 assists and averaging his own 15.0 points a game. Carswell and Thomas have racked up a total of 37 steals to keep the ball in Titan hands.

Under the direction of Head coach Jeff Santarsiero and proudly supported with a packed gym, the Golden Tornadoes are set to defend home court. "Hot hands" (Jordan) Harbison has racked up 45 baskets from beyond the arch contributing to his 13.9 points a game average, aiming to make it rain on the Titans during tonight′s game. Freshman starter, Chaese Vaudrin enters his first meeting with the all-time rival. Vaudrin enters averaging 11.9 points a game while becoming a stand out playmaker for the GTs with 53 assists in the point guard position. Tyler Damazo will need to be at the top of his rebounding game to repeat his overtime victory performance last season with a double double. He enters the game averaging 7.6 rebounds.

Wednesday the Golden Tornadoes enjoy another conference game at home, hosting the Washington & Jefferson Presidents′ at 7:30 p.m.
