Geneva Baseball Preseason Poll 2014

Geneva Baseball Selected as #7 in Preseason Poll

gcbaseball13035.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- Geneva baseball has some big shoes to fill after friend and teammate Mike Jeffreys was signed into the Kansas City Royals organization. The transition missing its starting pitcher and top batter left the Presidents′ Athletic Conference preseason poll selecting Geneva Baseball to finish at the seventh slot among opponents.

Filling in the gap left on the mound by Jeffreys major league move will be senior Caleb Kilgore (North Apollo, PA/Apollo Ridge) who pitched 44 innings last year.

At bat, Geneva′s Outfielder Garrett Swanson (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) finished with a .304 batting average as the team′s second best behind Jeffreys in 2013. Swanson′s athleticism and hitting experience alludes to Geneva′s ability to fill in the big shoes left to fill in 2014.

The complete poll can be found on the Presidents′ Athletic Conference webpage at http://www.pacathletics.org/news/2014/2/4/BB_0204141622.aspx
