Beaver Falls, PA - Five times in the second half, Geneva cut Thomas More′s lead to single digits but every time the Saints answered and sent the Golden Tornadoes to their 12th straight loss. Geneva is now 4-16 and 0-11 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.
A slow start doomed Geneva′s chances as the Golden Tornadoes′ latest lead was 4-2 in the game′s opening minute but just seven minutes later, the Saints had a double-digit lead.
Geneva was led in scoring by the hot hand of junior Zac Rorick (Riverside, PA), who scored 16 points in just 19 minutes of action. Senior Jacob Grim (Mohawk) added 13 points and freshman Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH) added 10 points and eight assists.
Drew Mumford, the leading free throw shooter and second best shooter from the field in the conference, continued his success. He scored 21 to lead Thomas More (10-10, 9-2), making eight of 11 field goals and all three of his free throw attempts.
Geneva returns to action Saturday at 3 p.m. Saturday, hosting Waynesburg.
