gcw-bball-12-13-176.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - Geneva held Thomas More to its lowest scoring output in the last five games and sophomore sensation Sydney Moss to just below her NCAA Division III leading scoring average but the Saints were still able to defeat Geneva 89-52 and win their 20th straight game.

Thomas More had averaged 105 points over the last four games and Moss, daughter of NFL great Randy Moss, came into the game averaging 26.8 points per game. Moss scored 26 as the Saints took the lead for good just five minutes in and built a lead of as many as 47 points.

"They′re a good team and our goal was to hold them under 100 and score more than we did the last time we played them," said Geneva coach Lori Wynn. "We did both and I couldn′t be more proud of this team for how hard they worked. Thomas More is a very good team."

Freshmen Marissa Heaney (Union, PA) led Geneva with a career high 14 points and sophomore Heidi Mann (Evangelical Christian Academy, CO) added 11 points. Leading scorer and rebounder, freshman Nicole Hyland (Penn-Trafford) did not even dress due to an illness. With a few other players ailing to a lesser extent, senior Elise Mann, Heidi′s older sister, suited up for the first time and played 17 minutes and scored four points.

Thomas More is now 20-0 and 13-0 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference while Geneva falls to 3-16 and 2-11. Geneva next plays Saturday at 1 p.m. hosting Waynesburg.
