DSC0690.jpgFt. Pierce, FL- After a couple of days off in Florida, Geneva′s bats came back ready and out hit Delaware Valley in each game of a doubleheader but couldn′t turn the hits into runs, falling 4-0 and 5-2. Now 1-5, the low run output wasted good pitching efforts as only five of the nine runs allowed were earned.

In the opener, Ian McDonald (West Shore Christian Academy, PA) pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits. Andy Santana (Desert Christian, Dominican Republic) had the day′s only extra base hit with a double and finished with two hits in three at bats.

In the second, Geneva was able to score two runs in the top of the first but the lead didn′t last a full inning as Delaware Valley answered with two in the bottom of the inning. Garrett Swanson (Blackhawk) and Jeremy Herzog (Freedom) scored the two runs.

Geneva will return to Florida action Saturday with games against Hilbert and Albright.
