Geneva baseball drops two in two very different styles in non-conference doubleheader

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva dropped a pair to Medaille in non-conference action Wednesday - 3-1 in the first in a pitching battle and 11-10 in a slugfest in the nightcap.

In the first game, Medaille needed extra innings to come out on top as Geneva batters were limited to three hits, but two were for extra bases. Garrett Swanson (Blackhawk) had a triple while Dan Jeffreys (Moon) had a single and a double.

In the second game, though, Geneva pounded out 16 hits but Medaille scoed in the top of the seventh to grab the win. Aaron Witman (Shalom Christian Academy, PA) led the Geneva attack with four hits, including a home run, scoring twice and driving home three.

Also in the second game, Anthony Monteparte (Latrobe), Andy Santana (Desert Christian, Dominican Republic), Joe Galante (Avonworth, PA) and Zach Ackerman (Worthington Christian, OH) each had two singles.

Geneva, now 9-20 overall, returns to action Tuesday against Grove City.
