gcbaseball13011.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- The weather finally permitted Geneva and Waynesburg to play the final game of their three-game series but the Golden Tornadoes didn′t make the most of the nice weather, falling 18-2. The Golden Tornadoes managed just seven singles - five in the final three innings after they trailed 16-0 - while Waynesburg had 21 hits, 10 for extra bases.

Ironically, the teams had played two tight pitching duels on Saturday with Waynesburg winning 1-0 and Geneva winning 3-2. Geneva is now 7-17 and 3-8 in Presidents′ Athletic Conference play.

"They out played us in every area," said coach Alan Sumner. "We need to find some answers as we turn around and play St. Vincent tomorrow."

Anthony Monteparte (Latrobe) led Geneva′s attack with two hits. J.C. Ackerman (Worthington Christian, OH) and Adam Teets (Freedom) scored Geneva′s runs on RBIs by Ryan McGonigle (Apollo-Ridge) and Donnie Tong (Tree of Life Christian, OH).

Geneva will next play Wednesday, hosting St. Vincent.
